After the explosive entry of SR 175, Aprilia has now launched an updated version of its popular scooter SR 125 – and its name is Aprilia SR 125 hp.e. It is not only more powerful than before, but features have been added to it that make it the most advanced in the segment. The old SR 125 will still continue to be sold, but the new model brings a lot of new things – be it its engine or new technology.
Performance Of Aprilia SR 125 hp.e
Aprilia’s new SR 125 hp.e scooter comes with a powerful 124.45 cc engine, which is air-cooled and single-cylinder. This 4-stroke and 3-valve engine gives excellent performance for everyday riding. This engine generates 10.60 PS of power and 10.4 Nm of torque. The special thing is that this engine now follows OBD-2B emission norms, meaning it has become more eco-friendly.
Due to electronic fuel injection and 3-valve setup, its power delivery is smooth, mileage is good and emissions are very low. This scooter performs well in city traffic and frequent start-stop conditions.

This scooter has a CVT gearbox which is specially tuned for instant throttle response. This makes it easy to drive in tight spaces in the city and overtaking is also fun. While the company has not yet revealed the official mileage, it is expected that this scooter can give an average of around 40 km/l.
Same look, but new colors and graphics
The body style of the new SR 125 hp.e has been kept the same as before, but due to new colours and livery it looks very fresh and youthful. This time three colour options have been given – a monotone Matt Black, and two dual-tone options: Glossy Mazda Grey + Matt Black and Glossy Red + Matt Black.
While the older model came in four monotone and two dual-tone options, the new hp.e features updated graphics. There are now broad lines on the shoulder panels, which replace the earlier large ‘a’ logo.
Apart from this, minor cosmetic changes have also been made to the front apron and side panels. The scooter gets the same sharp front design, LED headlamps, sporty carbon-finish detailing, split seat, upswept exhaust and X-shaped taillamp which makes it stylish.
TFT screen is the show-stopper
Just like the high-tech TFT display offered in the SR 175, a similar new TFT display has been given in the SR 125 hp.e. This 5.5-inch full-color display looks similar to the one on the RS 457 and Tuono 457, but its user interface is different.
In this, you can personalize the graphics and adjust the backlight as per your choice. The TFT display supports Bluetooth connectivity so that you can control calls, music and navigation directly from the scooter. Also, ride data can be accessed so that you can understand your riding style and make improvements as per the need.
Price and Competition
The Aprilia SR 125 hp.e will compete directly with the TVS Ntorq 125, Hero Xoom 125 and the Yamaha RayZR 125. While the new Aprilia scooter comes with a front disc brake and is priced at ₹ 1.2 lakh , the Yamaha RayZR Disc variant is the cheapest, priced at ₹ 86,500.
The TVS Ntorq 125 Disc variant starts at ₹ 87,500, and the Hero Xoom 125 Disc model costs ₹ 92,900. The Aprilia SR 125 hp.e is the most premium of the lot – but the features, technology and performance it offers make it stand out from the rest.
If you are looking for a scooter that is sporty in looks, advanced in technology and powerful in performance – then Aprilia SR 125 hp.e can be a great choice. The price is a bit high, but its features definitely give value for every rupee.
