Kawasaki Versys X-300

Great news for adventure bike lovers in India! Kawasaki has finally launched the bike its fans have been waiting for a long time. Yes, we are talking about the Kawasaki Versys X-300, which has now been launched in the Indian market.

This is an adventure tourer bike, which is for those people who want to enjoy the ride by riding a motorcycle from smooth city roads to rough village roads. You will have to pay Rs 3.80 lakh (showroom price) for this bike initially. This motorcycle, with its great features, gives tough competition to bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in the market. If you are also looking for a bike that has everything in looks, performance, and comfort, then let’s know what is special in the Kawasaki Versys X-300 and whether it can be the right bike for you.

Kawasaki Versys X-300 is especially for those who like long-distance biking and adventure riding. Its lightweight body, powerful engine, and modern features make it a good option for both new and old bikers. In this article, we will talk about the design, engine, features, price, and other bikes that compete with this bike. I have 10 years of experience in biking and have ridden many adventure bikes, so I will explain every small and big thing about this bike to you in simple language.

Design of the Kawasaki Versys X-300

The look of the Kawasaki Versys X-300 attracts a lot of attention. It has a high windscreen, single headlight, and upward exhaust pipe, which gives it the look of a premium adventure bike. Its single seat has a slight step, which provides comfort to both the rider and the pillion. It has 19-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear, and both have tube tires. Its 180mm ground clearance keeps it balanced even on bad roads.

Now it is available in two new colors – Metallic Ocean Blue/Pearl Robotic White and Candy Lime Green/Metallic Flat Spark Black, which make it even more stylish. The bike weighs 179 kg, which makes it easy to ride and feel light. In terms of design, this bike retains the identity of Kawasaki’s Versys series.

Powerful engine and performance

This bike has a powerful 296 cc engine, which has a water-cooled parallel-twin design. This engine is inspired by the Ninja 300 model, but it is designed in such a way that it gives special power and performance to the bike. This engine gives a power of 38.8 bhp and a torque of 26 Nm. This engine is made according to the latest emission norms, which makes it better for the environment as well. The bike has a 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch, which keeps the gear shifting smooth.

This engine is very good for long-distance rides. Its torque is good at low range, so there is no need to change gears frequently during city rides. Its engine gives slightly less power than the KTM 390 Adventure, but its twin-cylinder setup makes the ride much smoother. Talking about mileage, this bike gives 22-24 kmpl, and its fuel tank is of 17 liters, which is good for long distances.

Features

Features matter in today’s time, and in terms of features, the Kawasaki Versys X-300 is not showy, but its simplicity is its specialty. It has a digital-analog meter, which gives important information like gear position, speed, and fuel level. It also has dual-channel ABS, which increases safety. However, it does not have features like LED lights and smartphone connectivity, which are found in its competitor bikes.

Despite this, its 41mm telescopic front fork (130mm travel) and rear monoshock (148mm travel) provide good riding even on bad roads. Its seat height is 815mm, so most people can ride it comfortably. The riding position is also such that one does not get tired even on long distances.

Price and value for money

The price of this motorcycle has been kept at Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This is slightly more expensive than the KTM 390 Adventure, which is priced at Rs 3.68 lakh. At the same time, the price of the Himalayan 450 is Rs 2.85 lakh, which is much less than this. Earlier, this bike came as a CBU and was priced at Rs 4.60 lakh, so not many people could buy it. Now it has been made slightly cheaper with local assembly, but it is still more expensive than its competitors.

So is the price right? If you want a smooth twin-cylinder engine and the reliable quality of Kawasaki, this bike can be a value for money. But if you want more features and a lower price, then KTM or Himalayan are more sensible options. Its mileage and range make it a good companion for long journeys.

Comparison with rivals

The Kawasaki Versys X-300 is a great motorcycle that has made a place for itself in the market with its powerful performance and features. This bike gives tough competition to popular bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Enduro, and BMW G 310 GS. Talking about the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, this bike not only offers strong performance, but its price is also quite affordable compared to many of these bikes.

The Himalayan 450 gives more power to the riders due to its powerful engine, which makes it an attractive option in this segment. The KTM 390 offers more features like LED lights and traction control. The BMW G 310 GS offers brand value, but its price is also higher.

The biggest feature of the Versys X-300 is its twin-cylinder engine. This engine makes the ride on the highway very smooth and luxurious. If you want a composed and reliable ride, then this bike is for you. But if you want more features and off-roading, then you should look at other options as well.

The Kawasaki Versys X-300 is a bike that is lightweight and extremely reliable. If you are looking for a motorcycle that offers both thrill and reliability, then this bike is great for you. Its engine, comfortable riding position, and price make it a great package. Yes, it lacks some modern features, but it is a good option for both everyday riding and long distances. If you want style, performance, and reliability together, then this bike could be for you.
