To further strengthen its foothold in the Indian bike market, KTM has given another big update. The company has launched the 2025 model KTM 390 Adventure X.

The price of the new bike has now been kept at ₹ 3 lakh 3 thousand (showroom price). If you compare it with the old model, then it is ₹ 12 thousand more expensive than that. But with the increased price, such features have been added to it, which were earlier available only in the standard 390 Adventure.

What has changed in the new KTM 390 Adventure X?

The older model only came with basic rider aids like off-road mode and off-road ABS. But now in the 2025 Adventure X, you will get cruise control, cornering ABS, cornering traction control and three different ride modes – Street, Rain and Off-road.

This means that now both the fun and control of riding have become better than before. Like the standard model, it also has an updated switchgear. Cruise control can be turned on/off by pressing just one button and the speed can also be adjusted with a toggle switch. Cruise control automatically turns off as soon as the brake is applied and becomes active again as soon as the throttle is turned.

No change in engine and hardware

In terms of power, this bike is the same as before. This bike comes with a 399cc single-cylinder engine, which is equipped with a liquid-cooling system. Its engine gives a powerful power of 45 horsepower and also generates a torque of 39 Newton-meters, which doubles the fun of riding. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension setup is also the same as before – 43mm WP Apex USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The only difference is that the Adventure X has fewer suspension adjustment options. It only gets preload adjustment for the rear monoshock, while the standard model has more adjustable settings.

The front wheel of the motorcycle is 19 inches, while the rear wheel is a 17-inch alloy wheel. For braking, 320mm disc brakes have been installed in the front and 240mm disc brakes in the rear.

Price and competition

The older model was priced at ₹ 2.91 lakh, but with the new features, the ₹ 12,000 hike seems reasonable. Despite this, the bike is still around ₹ 65,000 cheaper than the standard 390 Adventure, which is priced at ₹ 3.68 lakh (ex-showroom).

It competes directly with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in the market, which starts at ₹ 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The Himalayan 450 gets features like switchable ABS, ride-by-wire, ride modes and slip-and-assist clutch. However, the Himalayan is an off-road focused machine, while the KTM 390 Adventure X offers a balanced package for both on-road and mild off-road.
