After the partnership of MG Motor and JSW, there has been another explosion in the Indian auto market. After the launch of MG M9, now the company has revealed the price of its new sports car MG Cyberster . This is the company’s second premium electric vehicle which will be sold exclusively through MG Select dealerships . And the interesting thing is that no such two-door sports car has been launched in India in this price range before.
MG Cyberster launched in India
The MG Cyberster is now available in the market. Its starting price is just Rs 72.49 lakh. This attractive price is only for those buyers who have already pre-booked the car. Whereas, for new customers, its introductory price is ₹ 74.99 lakh (ex-showroom) . With this price tag, the Cyberster has become India’s most affordable 2-door convertible sports car – and that too with a power of more than 500 bhp.
MG Cyberster broke the record
The Cyberster is available in just one variant and comes in four stunning colour options – Flare Red and Nuclear Yellow (with black roof), Andes Grey and Modern Beige (with red roof). Bookings are open and deliveries will be made from 13 MG Select showrooms in Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Surat and Ahmedabad .
This car is actually the production version of the E-Motion Coupe Concept shown in 2017, which was first seen in 2021 and was revealed in full glory at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2023. Its design is absolutely unique – especially its Lamborghini-style scissor doors will force people to turn around and look at it.
Great design and equally sporty from inside
The Cyberster looks no less than a premium supercar – 20-inch alloy wheels, sharp LED headlights, sculpted body panels, split air intakes, canvas roof, and a very stylish tail section make it look absolutely futuristic.
There is no dearth of sportiness in its cabin either – premium features like Y-shaped sports seats, triple screen cluster, vertical infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, dual zone climate control, Bose audio system, Level-2 ADAS and inbuilt 5G connectivity are present.
Performance that breaks all speed limits
The Cyberster car sold in India has a powerful 77 kWh battery, which drives two oil-cooled electric motors. Due to this, the car gives a tremendous power of 510 bhp and a torque of 725 Newton-meters. With so much power, this car catches the speed of 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.2 seconds. At the same time, it takes only 2.1 seconds to go from 80 to 120 km/h . Once fully charged, its range is said to be around 580 km .
The chassis has been tuned by a team of F1 engineers to improve its driving dynamics . Features like 50:50 weight distribution, launch control, Brembo brakes, rear locking differential and fully switchable ESP make it the star of a racing track.
